Madison the little Gymnast
Madison had her last gymnastics class about a week ago. She had so much fun and did so good. She improved in every class. She can now do somersaults and no handed somersaults (which she just thought of to do on her own because they didn't teach them that in class). She sprained her ankle pretty bad on the bar one of the weeks and she was scared to go on it again, but at the last class she got on it again and was such a brave girl. Madison's favorite things to do were jump on the trampoline, somersaults & the parachute.

Going to the Park
Well, I thought it was time for an update from my last post on walks to the park. In that post on March 24 Madison was still below the "VIEW". Now, less than 6 months later she is already touching the bottom part of "TRAPPERS". This little girl is growing so fast! Of course you can see she now likes to bring water to the park instead of wear jewelry and bring her puppy. Really she would do both still, but now I can usually convince her that she doesn't need to bring those, but instead should bring water in case she gets thirsty. She calls it pink water. Which is really just water in a pink bottle. She is so silly sometimes.

Hiking with mommy and daddy
Last Sunday we decided to take Madison hiking. It was a lot of fun. This time was a little different as there was a nice creek that Madison and Nate got to dip their feet in for a while. Madison even got out of the back pack for a while and walked. She walked for a long time too!! She was very tired by the time we got back to the car. I think her favorite part was seeing all the butterflies and bugs.

Madison's 2nd Haircut
On Saturday we took Madison to Cool Cuts for Kids to get her 2nd haircut. She has needed a trim for quite a while now so we finally got around to doing it. We cut a inch or 2 off just because Madison hates to have her hair brushed and it gets so knotted and scraggly looking throughout the day. Madison did so good at her haircut this time. The first time she cried and screamed for her mommy the whole time and would not sit still. This time she cried right at first, but then I held her hand and she was fine. The hairdresser even put her hair in a "princess pony" after her hair cut because she was doing so well.

Swimming
On Saturday we took Madison swimming at Splash in Golden. This was only our second time going to the pool this summer. She had so much fun! She gets better and better every time we take her. She likes to walk in the "deep" end (up to her shoulders on her), practice swimming, go down the kiddie slide, she wishes she could go down the big slides, but she's not tall enough yet, and ride around on mommy and daddy's backs. I am trying to teach her to jump in to the pool, but she still just pretends she is going to, but never does. She gets closer and closer every time though. I got a cute picture of Madison and daddy together, but of course Nate was too cold to get out and take a picture of Madison and I...

Grocery Store Trips
Madison loves going to the grocery store... Whenever we ask if she wants to go to the store she says "Yeah, cookie!" No matter what store we're going to she says that. Once we pull in to the parking lot and she can see the store she shouts, "cookie home". Then we get inside and she says "pink cookie" until we get her a cookie. Then, once she has a cookie she starts saying "penny" or "ride pony". Last weekend I got a picture of her riding the pony. I think it's so cute how she comes up with her own names for stuff. Who thinks to call a grocery store a cookie home besides a little kid?

Sad Face
I think it's so cute that Madison made this face when I took a picture of us last week at Nate's softball game. I don't know why she was sad or if she just made this face to be silly because she didn't want her picture taken. It reminds me of the face she gives me when I say she can't do something she wants to, except that face is a lot sadder than this one. I think she just looks cute in this picture. And if you look really close a this picture it kind of looks like she's about to smile or trying not to smile.

Working on the car
The battery in the Pathfinder died about a week ago. Nate had a mechanic at his work test it a day earlier because it had been acting up for a while and it said it was bad, but we just didn't get one yet. Then one night when we were out the car wouldn't start at all so Nate had to walk to a gas station and buy jumper cables while Madison and I sat and waited in the car. Luckily, someone offered to help us jump our car right away, but we had to stop by Pep Boys on the way home and buy a new battery for the car. Madison enjoyed helping daddy put the new battery in. She really liked helping with the flashlight the most though when daddy dropped a screw.

Race Across America
At my work, we are having a contest called Race Across America. Everyone who wanted to participate is in groups of 4 and the first team to walk 3,300 miles is the winner. Our team name is the Pink Ladies from Grease. The first 4 teams to finish even get prizes (and from what we hear the first place team is in for quite a bit of money). We wear pedometers to track our steps/miles and there are also bonus challenges that you can earn up to 500 miles on. For each team member that does the challenge and takes a picture showing they did it, they get 100 miles. If the whole team does it together and takes a picture of it then you get a 100 mile bonus for a total of 500 miles. Our team just finished the last challenge of the race and we are in first place!! We have about 2 more weeks to go probably until we're done. I can't wait to throw that stupid pedometer out the window when I'm finally done with this whole thing!!
Challenge #1 - Climb to the top of Green Mountain from Hayden Park
Challenge #2 - Hike Apex trail and take a picture at "scenic point" shown on map - we got lost so we just took a random picture on the hike, but we did eventually find the said "scenic point", I just liked this picture better so I decided to post this one
Challenge #3 - Hike Mount Falcon and take a picture at the White Summer House. I had to bring Madison on this hike because Nate was scouting this day. Luckily, Stephanie helped me carry Madison up.

Cabo here I come!
So about a month or so ago on the radio, I qualified to win a trip to Cabo San Lucas for 2. You had to be caller 9 when they gave the cue to call, and one morning on my way to work I heard it so I called and it went through on my first try and I was caller 9!! They asked me how old I was and I told them 21, and I must sound really young on the phone because they kept asking me and making sure I was 21 because you had to be 21 years old to qualify. Well I thought it was long over with and I hadn't won it, until last week I heard that on Friday, the 30th, they were going to be live at Coyote Ugly and announce who won the Cabo trip from 9-11 pm. I tried searching to see who won over the weekend, but it wasn't posted ANYWHERE. Then I thought well they will probably call the winner Monday morning and let them know they won. I didn't even think of it until my way home from work today (sitting in hours and hours of traffic because of the fire on c-470) and then I got kind of sad because I realized I hadn't received a call from them so I probably didn't win it. Then I checked my phone and I had a voicemail. I listened to it and right away it said Hi, Monica this is Mudflap from 92.5 the wolf. I started shaking... Then he said, I don't know if anyone has told you or not, but we pulled your name Friday night at Coyote Ugly and YOU'RE going to Cabo!!! I was screaming and jumping up and down!!! I scared Madison and even made her cry I was screaming so loud! I'm supposed to get a call tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest with all of the details, but I do know it is a trip for 2 to Cabo for 5 days and 4 nights to stay in the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar Golf & Spa Resort. I also get a visa gift card with $800 on it for spending money while we're there!! I guess you can't win if you don't play.
